I love soap! And I’m talking about creamy lathery bar soap. For a while now I’ve been exclusively using bar soap that I made, and sometimes every now and then I’ll purchase handmade bar soap from an artesian. I prefer handmade soaps for the quality of ingredients and the ability to add whichever oils I choose.
But, last night I used Shea Moisture’s Organic Raw Shea Butter Soap. The first thing that I noticed is the hefty 8oz portion of soap. I love cleansing with big bars, so that was a plus. This soap is scented with Frankincense and Myrr and it smells divine (one thing that I can rely on with this brand). The scent should also be appealing to males as well since it lays on the unisex line.
The soap gave a nice lather and filled the shower with the scent of Frankincense and Myrr. I did noticed instead of my usual two full body lather ups I had to throw in a third. The soap didn’t cut through oil and dirt as well as my homemade soaps but still worked well enough and got the job done.
The following are the ingredients from the package:
Ingredients: African Shea Butter, Coconut Oil, Palm Oil, Essential Oil Blend, Vegetable Glycerin, Rosemary Extract, Vitamin E, Soaps of Coconut & Palm.
My final thoughts: I love the Shea Moisture line and I find their products reasonably priced. For $4.99 you get a generous 8oz bar of great smelling soap, that will get the job done. I would buy Shea Moisture’s bar over other commercial soaps simply for the size and smell.
